9 month check up

Monday we went in for our 9 month check up. For the most part everything looks good. Maegan is 25 inches long and weighs 15.8 lbs and Little Bean Ella is at 12.13 and 24 inches. All in the 5% or under, but hey someone has make up the bottom right!?!
Developmentally we are right on track.

Maegan- She crawls and stands on everything (including her sister!), uses her pincer grasp, waves bye bye, does the sign of "all done" and makes all the babbling sounds she should. She loves to climb and get into everything! She is always on the go from the time she gets up to the time she goes to sleep she is moving!

Ella- She is starting to tolerate being on her tummy and push towards things she wants. I think she is sick of Maegan taking all the toys! No crawling yet, but the pedi is not concerned yet. She uses her pincer grasp and has gotten so much better about food. She does the sign for all done, claps, and waves. She is babbling like crazy. She is a very content baby that will sit and play as long as you let her.

Both of the girls are eating pretty good. We are on a 3 meal a day schedule with bottles in between. They love 'real' people food. Pancakes, toast and crackers with cream cheese are high on the list.

The girls first Christmas

Seeing Christmas through your child's eyes is one of the most amazing things. Even though the girls had no idea what was going on we all had a blast. They got the L&L kitchen and it is still a HUGE hit. Of course they liked the bows, paper, and RIBBON but were also pretty into tearing into the paper and playing with all their new stuff.

Our First Christmas Eve as a family of 4

Reading The Night Before Christmas

Getting ready for Christmas has always been my favorite part of the year, buying gifts, decorating the house and of course getting the tree!

We got the tree home and thought we were going to have to baby gate it to keep the girls away from it. Surprisingly they could have cared less! They both liked to look at when the lights were on and a few times Maegan went over to "see" it but never really got into anything.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Yes I know this is very very late.....but ya know stuff happens
Leading up to Thanksgiving this year someone on Facebook suggested that we post one thing a day we are thankful for. I liked the idea so I did it. I have SO many things to be thankful for it was hard to only put one thing a day. Above all else I am thankful that God has granted David and I the privilege to parents to such amazing little girls. Being parents to twins holds it own challenges, twice the diapers, feedings, food, crying! But also brings twice the love, kisses, hugs, smiles and cuddles. I would not trade this for anything in the world.

We had a great Thanksgiving the girls ate all people food for dinner that night! First time, and they loved everything.

Slacker

Ok so It's been a long time since I posted.....things are some what busy with the girls.
We Took the girls to the pumpkin patch a few weekends ago, they had so much fun. We took the tractor down to the field and then picked our pumpkins. I think they liked the hay and being in the dirt the most.

We carved pumpkins the week before Halloween and they got into it so much more then I thought they would.

In other news Maegan is crawling, well mostly! She gets up on all fours then flings herself foward towards whatever she needs. She is getting pretty good at.

Ella has no interest in moving, altough she has gotten very good at sliding towards toys that she wants. Most of the time though she goes after one then gets bored of it and plays with her hands and feet!
So I promise it won't be so long for me to update! no really!!!

5 Months Old

Today our baby girls are 5 months old! I was feeding Meagan and she was trying to grab the bottle and thought to myself that we just went to the hospital and had them. The time is truly flying by, I am very excited to see what the next 5 months hold, but sad at how fast the "infant" stage has gone by.

Meagan is growing like a weed, she is finally in 3 month clothes and rolls all over the place, she is never in the same place that you leave her. She LOVES to sit up and play with anything she can get her hands on. She loves Maxx. He can make her giggle quicker then anyone else can. She eats like a champ and has not met a puree she does not like. Still not a great sleeper but is putting herself to sleep. Her new favorite toy is Mr. bee she does not like when we give it to Ella to play with, she tries to grab it back.

Ella is our tiny peanut, she is still in newborn clothes, but slowly moving up to 3 months. She is the most easy going baby I have ever seen. She is perfectly content playing with her hands or snuggling with her baby. She is an amazing sleeper, put her in her crib turn on her bunny and she is out. Still not great eater, but we are getting there. Bottles are getting easier and she is slowly starting to like solids. So far her favorite is sweet potato and avocado. She loves to sit up and watch everything around her. She is very quick to laugh at you and tell you a story. Her new favorite thing to do is blow raspberries (while eating, riding in the car and talking to you).

Life is wonderful I could not ask for more. We are leaving on our families first vacation to FL on Friday, the girls will be dedicated on Sunday and they are going to meet some family for the first time. Should be a great time!

quick update

Have not had much time to get on so while the girls are napping thought I would update

No new news on Ella's blood work, hopefully we will know something soon. I am taking the stance of no news is good news! She has been drinking all her bottle recently so that is a great thing.

I went back to work this week, while kinda! I took a job at a new preschool working from 9:00 to 1:00. The girls wont be going with me, but staying with a great friend in out house. I was not really ready to go back, but the bank account and bills had another idea!

We have tried all sorts of new food, so far the favorites are Avocado, Sweet Potatoes, and Squash! So far they both are great eaters and have not rejected anything. Maegan LOVES everything Ella is a little more picky.

They both have stared to sit up, they have great control for 4.5 months. Maegan is pretty sure she is grown and tires to get off the pillow that is propping her up and lunge for toys, daddy, maxx or anything else shes "has to have". Ella is much more content sitting there and playing with her hands/toys and blowing raspberries!

Maegan can now roll both ways and does it on any surface she is on, including the bath and being held! Ella is getting there but really has no desire to do so.

I think that is all for now...here is a recent picture of the them in the front seat of the car waiting on daddy to get the stroller.....
